Quarterback Tucker Pruitt threw two touchdown passes and Chris Hart threw for another to lift Valdosta State to a 21-13 win tiday over Harding.
Valdosta State's red-zone defense held Harding to only two field goals during the first three quarters of the game. Meanwhile, Hart hit Albert Dukes for a 19-yard pass for the Blazers' first touchdown in the first quarter.
Pruitt connected with T.J. Williams on a 13-yard pass in the second quarter and with Evan Gilles on a 6-yard pass in the third for Valdosta State (6-1, 4-1).
Overall, Pruitt made 18 of his 24 passes for 143 yards, while Hart made 3 of his six attempts for 48 yards.
Harding (2-6, 1-4) was led by quarterback David Knighton, who connected on 33 of his 53 passes for 315 yards and two interceptions. Knighton threw one 9-yard touchdown pass to Kurt Adams with 2:08 left in the game, but the Blazers ran the clock out.
Valdosta State will travel to North Alabama next Saturday. Harding will celebrate its homecoming the same day with a game against Arkansas-Monticello.
